Making High Impact!
High Influence!
High Impact! High Influence!! Believe these are two key words for
us in this century. Made possible by the anointing of the Holy Spirit
for in this century. It is your finest moment. Here are four steps
to get you started.
1. Realize Your Potential. "A
poor man's field may produce abundant food, but injustice sweeps it
away." Pro. 13:23. Your life, like seed, is filled with unrealized
potential. The moment Jesus saw Simon, He recognized the potential
in him. Jn.1: 42. There is something God made you to be and to do
that no one else can be or do. Potential is that which could or might
be but does not exist yet. It is possibility lying dormant until recognized
and released. That seed must be planted in fertile soil and nurtured
in order to realize its full potential. You can choose to realize
your potential or waste it. "He who works his land will have abundant
food, but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement." Pro. 12:11. You
are never too young or never too old to realize your potential and
to do something about it.
2. Reach for Your Opportunity.
"Be very careful, then, how you live- not as unwise but as wise, making
the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil!. Ep. 5:
15-16. God gives us an abundance of opportunity every day. Do you
recognize them and reach out for them? People who succeed in life
are those who recognize and reach out for every opportunity that comes
their way. As someone said, " Your greatest opportunities are cleverly
disguised as insurmountable problems." Within every obstacle is the
"seed of an equivalent advance". You must look for it and reach out
for it. Turn your obstacles into opportunities. This was what Joseph,
the son of Jacob, did. "The principle of opportunity says that life
is a series of obstacles, and these obstacles hold the key to your
greatest opportunities if you only discipline yourself to see opportunities
every where."
John Haggai. .Make the most of every opportunity today. It may not
knock on your door tomorrow.
3. Rekindle Your Passion. "I
delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste "
Song of Solomon 2. 3. Another word for passion is "enthusiasm'. Walter
Chrysler once said, "I feel sorry for the person who can't get
genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied,
but he will never achieve any thing worth while."
A husband and wife were driving along in their pick-up truck. They've
been married for years. The wife says, "Honey, what happened to the
spa had? Why don't you sit by me when we go or drive any more?" The
husband responds, "You're the one sitting over by the door. Who moved?"
At one time the relationship you had with God was characterized by
intimacy and passion. But today you may feel the "spark" is missing
or that He has moved "over by the door." It's time to rekindle your
passion. And so it is with our spiritual.life, family, ministry, work,
revival, dreams or vision. We could be serving but service without
passion is slavery.
Computer entrepreneur Charles Wang explains, "If you have it in your
heart. we can put what you need in your head." We fail not because
we don't know how or what to do but because we don't want success
intensely enough. Therefore we don't want to pay the price, we don't
like the sacrifice and, so we don't put in the required discipline
and effort to succeed.
"Enthusiasm and perseverance can make an average person superior,
while indifference and lethargy can make a superior person average
". -William A. Ward.
4. Resolve to be Available. "Your
servant will go and fight him..." 1 Sam. 17:32. The Lord looks for
your availability and not for your ability. Every person that was
used by the Lord in the last century to Impact and influence their
world were men and women who were available to Him. Most of them had
no natural ability and were on the "most unlikely persons" list. The
story of how God used the simple, inexperienced shepherd boy David
to slay a giant, is a classic example of how God can use you if you
make yourself available to Him. The Lord by passed the "able" servants
on King Saul's team for the "available "son of Jesse.
This is not the time to worry, It is time to worship His Majesty.
This is not time to be bitter, it is time to strive to be better.
This is not the time to stay back, It is time to come back to your
First Love and the Fellowship of His Church.
This is not the time to "sit around", It is time to take ground. It
is your God-given moment to be a High Impact! High Influence kind
of person.
Be Encouraged.
